Born and raised Texas mom Lisa Alamia went into get jaw surgery to fix an under-bite, and came out with A BRITISH ACCENT!
How did this happen you ask? Well, apparently it’s a rare “disorder” called “Foreign Accent Syndrome” that has only affected about 100 people EVER…including Lisa!
“I was very shocked,” Lisa told ABC News. “I didn’t know how to take it. I was very confused. I said ‘Ya’ll’ all the time before the accent. Once I got the accent, I started noticing I’d say, ‘You all.'”
According to Yahoo!, the condition “is most often caused by brain injury,” but Lisa’s doctor did tests and no brain injuries were detected!
Apparently, the disorder is so rare that not even doctors believe it!
“It’s such a rare condition that neurologists don’t believe that this is a real condition,” Dr. Toby Yaltho of Houston Methodist Sugar Land Neurology Associates told ABC News. “The big thing is to know that she’s not faking it.”
